India in 2022 , Disruption in all aspects

India and Indians are changing and changing very fast . India will be the youngest nation in the world with average age less than 29 years by 2022 . This new India is writing new rules ,with conventional wisdom and tradition slowly being pushed out, faster than one can think off .  Their is a lot of  disruption in the thinking of this generation and can also be seen in the ideas on which they are working in solving and handling real life problems .

Some classic changes which are being seen can be the behaviour in the new generation . Unlike of their parents ,nobody has hardly any cash in their pocket and have myself done this small survey numerous time . This is the case with kids whose parents are dealing in cash . This is a sea change as all of them spent using E wallets,Credit cards etc . Their top spending is on eating out/partying ,vacation and clothes. They are in typical 'No asset mode' ,where they do not want to have any permanent liability tied up to them . Like EMI's of Car or house etc . Thats just not the priority. They want to be quite mobile and thus do not want baggage ,be it material or emotional . This is the generation of Tinder and not Shaadi.com . They love to travel , eat out and want instant gratification . This trend is quite prominent in the early adopters ie the metros but is slowly creeping into B grade towns as well . The Gen X choice of profession is also based on their liking and cannot be forced and they are ready to struggle it out as well to pursue their dreams .

One can see a marked difference between the aspirations of this generation. One clear thing which I have found in their behaviour is that they want to live in the present and them self. Unlike the popular perception ,I find them quite clear of what they want and are quite confident as well. I also feel that they are and will be much happier than their seniors.These kids ae very confident and very well informed .They do not like to have too much baggage and freedom is utmost important to them . Their requirement are also very ephemeral. Some seniors might like to describe it as selfish and usually Qoute that "in our generation .." but this generation X does things which he feels like doing not usually what is forced upon them or peer pressure . What is really heartening is that the gender boundaries are also dwarfing and one can easily spot girls having night out without any fear or guys with them . Most of the girls wants to have a professional career and are equally supported by families as well .

The family pressure of marriage on girls has also reduced sizably . Infact it is difficult for parents to find decent bride for their son and not the vice versa . I have myself seen a lot of decent guys getting rejected by girls which was totally unheard off till like ten years ago . The girls are infact more clear of what they want from their prospective husband and are usually unrelenting . These days one can spot more single eligible boys than girls . GIRL POWER RULE ! This phenomenon can be seen being manifested in the current genre of films as well , The women have strong and independent personality and sex outside marriage is also not considered taboo .  This behaviour is quite prominent in metros but will slowly percolate down as well,just a matter of time and in the current jetset age and the demography shifting in favour of the youth ,this change will be seen very prominently across india in next five years .

Another sea change in the behaviour can be seen is in consumption of entertainment . The Gen X is mainly on mobile. Even the type of material being consumed is also seeing a marked change . They are consuming new age stuff like web series and a lot of new age content generation shops have mushroomed up . Moreover they are consuming it on mobile. Mobile has become an integral part of their personality which is being used for everything from information , shopping , finding mates/jobs, review about restaurants/places to monitoring health and  communication being one of them .

This changing behaviour will also impact the economics and political scene in the country as well . I strongly feel that the country will be digital first and thus the number of digital transactions will multiply every year . This will inturn make the country more tax compliant . Another phenomenon which I have seen in this gen X is stress on physical fitness . They want to look sharp and fit and thus a lot of emphasis is on fitness and thus see a drop in high calorific drinks and food as well. In fact the new millennium gen x is also environment friendly . These are all good signs and feel that they will make the world a better place,materially atleast . This generation X is also breaking the caste barrier which is so prominent for indian political system . They are tending to vote for development and new change order. This generation is making its mistakes as well but learning fast. The social pressure on this generation is also not felt by them as was felt by their seniors . This generation X is making the changes and leading the new order,whether one accepts them or not but the change is palpable. The senior generation will have to adopt to the new order ,by free will or forcefully but thats inevitable .
