Nehru Gandhi dynasty , Role and relevance in current times
Nehru Gandhi dynasty is epitome of political ruling
class of post independence india . Out of almost 70 years of post independent
indian polity they have ruled between their family and through their proxies
for more than 50 years . Nehru became the first PM of independent india and
than his daughter Indira "Gandhi" ruled india with iron fist till '84
but for a brief stint of '77-'80. and than his son was forced into it post her
gruesome murder and Rajiv ruled for another five years till '89 . There was
again a brief period of three years of government of a motley crew of
opposition and than again congress came to power in '91 . As Rajiv was again
murdered during that election and there was no eligible direct descendant of
Gandhi/Nehru dynasty available to take the mantle thus P V Narsimha Rao was
made the PM. Than again there was a Non congress government at centre from
'96-2004. NDA lost the 2004 election against prediction of all pollster and
than the congress again gained power but since no Nehru Gandhi was ready to
take the mantle thus they propped up a stooge who was the PM of a billion
people being appointed by the wife of Rajiv Gandhi ,Mrs Sonia Gandhi .
The Nehru Gandhi Congress troika had harped on a
carefully crafted image of being the main crusader for india's independence and
saviour of all the minorities , poor and socially backward and oppressed class
. I strongly feel that in a lot of cases they are a creation of serendipity as
there was no other political opponents or if any emerged than they were
subsumed. Even no inner party democracy is allowed in the congress . Congress
leaders can fight among themself but they cannot point fingers at the super
deity and if you point than you are basically doing just to signal that you are
leaving the congress.
A lot of water had flown down the Ganges since 1947
and a whole generation has passed which believed that it was Nehru Gandhi which
got us independence. India is a very young country with more than 60%
electorate below the age of 32 . This new India have a very different
aspirations compared to the earlier one who believed or were made to believe
that it was Nehru Gandhi and Congress troika which ot us out from the clutches
of Britishers. Last 70 years have seen a sea changes in people's outlook world
over and India as well . Long standing citadels have fallen and somehow there
is a general apathy towards dynastic rules ,be it in business or politics . One
has to prove himself to be at the top. world over a lot of violent coup have
also happened to this effect to overthrow the long standing rulers who ruled
like feudal lords. Congress party needs to take cognisance of the current
changing situations and specially so the Gandhi family. Another remarkable
thing which has come to the fore is that the current heir i.e. Rahul Gandhi
seems to be a reluctant leader . Infact his dad ,Rajiv , was also sucked into
the vortex involuntarily and it showed in his conduct and understanding .In the
case of Rahul Gandhi , It is quite apparent that he is a very reluctant leader
to lead congress and 1.2 Billion indian . His understanding of the new india
and his action and reactions to the situations are highly immature . His actions
cannot be camouflaged, These days with the superfast information flow
compared to his dad or grand mom's era . Any faux pas get immediately noticed
and transmitted and it spreads like wild fire so easily that the damage control
is almost impossible . The internet is full of his faux pas and he has become a
mascot of political jokes on social media.
New times need new game strategy but congress still
under the clutches of old guards is not nimble enough to react and strategize
to the changing political landscape . They are still working on the old
formulae and old guards without infusing fresh blood. What really surprises
many is that a young leader of 47 years of age is disconnected from the young
population and specially so when he is fighting a battle with a person who is
20 years senior to him but is highly focussed and calling all the shots . The
next three years will be very crucial for congress and specially Rahul for it
will be a battle of survival . They have not been able to create or promoted a
second line of grass root leaders and whatever the congress has , be it Sachin
pilot or Jyotiraditya , are not given the free reigns to go out and fight it
out with the might of well oiled machinery of Sangh and BJP Cadre . I am not
able to see the revival plan in place at congress with people like eighty four
old Virbhadra Singh and ninety year old Vidya Stokes still arm twisting the so
called high command to get seats for them and their kin and cronies . The worst
part is that they are able to arm twist and thereby encouraging other old
guards to also follow the suit and discouraging the younger lot who do not have
a big daddy to back them up . I hardly see any youth aspiring for a career in
politics of congress party . Congress at one time was the first resort of
people with any political aspirations has become the last , moreover this phenomenon
is pan india . They are losing relevance in their bastions as well. The only
remaining congressmen spotted are those whose dad were also a position holder
or beneficiary of the largesse of congress party. BJP under the NAMO and SHAH
is road rolling in all parts of the country building the party organically and
inorganically and is now uniquely positioning itself as what congress was 50
years ago . It is unable to explain as to how will the congress take on the
might of BJP NAMO SHAH as they are on a juggernaut and specially so when they
are ruling and not relenting. The way the Shah Namo duo are functioning and
delivering electoral victories by making inroads into new vote blocs and newer
geographical areas, They seems to be not leaving not much room for congress.
I have serious doubts on Rahul Gandhi's ability to
lead congress on its own because of his communications prowess and commitment.
He is seen mainly during election season trying to go aggressive on BJP and
NAMO but it is not followed up post the elections. Electoral politics is a long
drawn game where the leader who is seen as one who can stand by his workers in
thick and thin and more so in thin gets the support of the masses. His
communication and organisational skills have been tested a couple of times and
have at least failed till date. The congress supporters and leaders needs to do
some rethinking and have to do disruption to break this jinx . In the current
era of social and electronic media ,the leaders are created more on the basis
of their oratory power ,definitely not by getting fake like/retweets from
Kazakhstan etc . I don't think that Rahul Gandhi can lead the congress out of
this rut and specially so to fight the NAMO and SHAH . Feel quite sorry for
whatever congressmen have remained, as they do not have much choices left . My
take is that senior have already enjoyed a lot of power and made enough moolah
so they do not bother much and more interested to safeguard their personal
interest and find suitable posts for their kids. The dipstick is that
Jyotiraditya or Sachin pilot have not been named as CM candidates of their
respective states which are going to poll next year and there is not a single
CM type leader who is below 70 years of age on the contrary BJP has retired all
its leaders who are above 75 year old . Right now its the fight between unequal
. If we look at the Gen next in congress ,it is filled with sons and daughter
of past congressmen ,be it Sachin Pilot , Jyotiraditya , R P N Singh , Jiten
Prasad , Gogoi , Bharat Sinh Solanki , Deepender Hooda , Milind Deora etc etc.
It seems it is impossible to rise in congress if your daddy has not been a
congress minister. Congress is not the natural choice for first generation
politician thus it is not attracting any new talent.
The grand old congress party ,to remain relevant in
the next decade, will have to do some disruptive thinking . If they still act
in similar way and are waiting a miracle to happen than it's a long haul till
at least 2024 . Will be tough for them to manage whatever stock they have till
that time and specially so when they are not able to attract new members in
their fold. BJP has now become the congress of fifties i.e the natural ruling
party and congress is even worse because its stock is going down . This can be
seen by behaviour of politically astute regional satraps like Nitish, Sharad
Pawar ,North east leaders etc building bridges with BJP . Its impossible to
accept change of attitude and aptitude of Rahul Gandhi , till their is a new
face and new thought process being induced to counter the NAMO SHAH , its
downhill all the way for congress .

Even Prashant Kishore is not able to provide this plain and simple writing on the wall 🙏🙏🙏
