Open letter to our change agent Mr Narendra Modi

Respected Narendra Bhai ,

I have been a big fan of your ideas , style of functioning and most important the 'INTENT & Honesty' . You had single handedly achieved what could not be done in last 68 years . You have proven that if there is a will there is way . You have changed the very mind set of common indian and for the first time I see that there is fear among people that there is Government and if they do something blatant than they cannot get away with it ,atleast that easily . That 'Chalta hai attitude' is being questioned . People are mending the way they used to function ,whether in cash dealing or tax submission etc .

We feel proud the way indian leadership and specially your image has been perceived across the globe . I don't think any other indian leader was accorded this type of respect in international arena earlier. The indian diaspora is also very proud of their new found status which they always longed but never got it . The dexterous handling of our foreign affairs has catapulted us in the league to top five nations and our importance and role in international politics was never acknowledged like the way it has been today .

I have been watching and listening to your various public addresses ,whether the 'Mann ki Baat' , 'Independence day address' , 'Speech at CA's conclave' ,'Speech at change champions' and various other similar forum . Your quoting of issues which are very pertinent to the audience proves that you have the ears on the ground inspite of the fact that you are so busy and perched at the highest seat . Your comment at the CA's conclave that " you guys were working overtime from 8th Nov ' had me in splits and there are numerous of these types of insights which you keep on sharing . Never in my memory have I seen an Indian PM having that much understanding of ground realities being faced by common citizen .

 A lot of new initiatives have been undertaken which were never done this vigorously . 'Toilet" which is such a big issue to majority of population of the country was never given this much importance . The impact of which will be seen for the coming generations . Similarly the 'Ujjwala" scheme brings clean fuel to so many household and respite to the women folks which were so affected by the smoke could never imagine this lifestyle  . 'Jan Dhan' yojna is a major lifestyle changer for poor people who perceived that bank account is a privilege of only rich . Bringing them to banks has not only given them the much needed legitimacy but direct deposit of subsidy in their aadhar linked bank account has removed the middle man nexus ,rural electrification is also bringing light in the life of some of the most neglected citizens . These are no cosmetic changes as being touted by the oppositions but for common man these are life changing experience . He has also shown his appreciation by giving you the blessing in form of voting to power with thumping majority in most of the elections.

I am also mighty impressed by your attitude of learning and making amends to the decision ,Whether dumping or shifting of certain council of minsters . But I feel that there are more non performers and I am pretty sure that you know them but probably because of low bench strength you also do not have much choices . I strongly feel that specialist should be brought in the council of minister to handle certain ministries and in executive positions as well to manage and implement important policy matters . People with proven leadership capabilities in their fields should be roped in and break the bureaucratic nexus . I have a strong belief that a lot needs to be done with regards to discretionary powers of the executive . A common man does not have any trust in Police/Government health care system /Government education system/Judiciary  ,basically any Government servant . A law abiding citizen who can afford it ,will just avoid it . After all the poll victories in various states you can definitely drive your CM's to address these burning issues on priority basis in their  respective states .  Inspite of this perception in general government institution , india's top education institutions are all government run (IIT/IIM/AIIMS etc) .This proves that if there is a will than it can definitely be done . Whatever said and done by your colleagues & officers but the common man has yet to see any progress in these areas . I am quite sure that you must be quite aware of these issues and must be having a plan to address these problem .

You are doing a great job and I suppose its high time to see that the structural changes which have been done to start giving the desired end results in form of more jobs and vibrant economy. I also feel that there are a lot of your party men and bureaucrats have a fulltime job of just retweeting your tweets and their delivery is highly questionable . Since some of them have been rewarded as well  ,This behaviour is paving the path for other as well.

Citizens "Mann ki Baat" 
I also hear to your monthly address "Mann Ki Baat " , I would also request you to create a similar platform for citizen where they can also voice there "Mann ki baat" with their leader . Also here I would also like to voice the plight of SME sector which has been hit quite hard due to multiple factors

• Slowing economy 
• liquidity issues 
• structural economic changes 
• drop in government expenditure
• flooding of cheap Chinese substitute 
• etc 

This sector is the backbone of indian economy because of the sheer volume of common man involved directly and indirectly . This segment is under severe stress . The entrepreneur in SME represent the true indian entrepreneur spirit . The government should take immediate steps to support them as certain initiative like "Make in India" and "Startupindia" have not taken off . Another request is that certain clear cut policies should be formulated and implemented for promoting and regulating select sectors which can generate a lot of employment and there by contribute and jack up the GDP . Some SOP's and policies need to be given for Tourism , Affordable housing & Logistics  . My suggestion is that to promote new breed of entrepreneur in these field SOP's should be given to smaller players rather than existing or mega projects . They should be accorded industry status and loan at easier terms should be accorded to the entrepreneur and less approvals to start the projects . The maze of approvals from government departments and difficulty in getting bank loans really kills the entrepreneurial spirit . The root cause of these issues is that these policies are formulated by bureaucrats with little consultation from the concerned parties thus these programs fail or donot give desired results . Promoting of these sector will have a ripple effect & automatically boost economy to a great extent without much efforts from government .

• Some suggestions for promoting tourism ,if the  government takes initiative in developing river fronts and water bodies like being done in Ahmedabad ,in various cities than it can go a long way in promoting tourism and hospitality industry  . It will also promote environment and water conservation because these businesses will fund the upkeep of these water bodies as they will directly impacted by there health .
• Some policies have been devised under PMAY scheme but some more issues need to be handled to make it successful and viable . Thats the reason we hardly see private participation in this area . Real estate contribute to more than 20% of GDP in direct and indirect form and a boost in this sector will not only help in boosting of economy but also help government realise the ambitious goal of housing for all by 2022 .
• We expect if a certain policy is not yielding the desired result than definitely there are issues in formulating it . We have hardly seen any marked improvement in Tourism sector in last three years and the state of real estate sector is less discussed the better . Logistics sector is seeing some green shoots because of GST but infrastructure woes still continue to plague it .
• Also would like to tame certain lumpen elements who are masquerading as vigilante .
